The Bengolis In The Emirates

Two Bengoli boys, raped and murdered a Bengoli girl in Nasyriah, Sharjah. Search is still undergoing for the two criminals. This is one huge shocking thing to hear. I had spent my whole childhood in this area and still do remember how peaceful, clean and crime free that residential area was.

Emirates which once was called to b peaceful and a secure place to live in, is now just like any other country. Every other day there is a robbery, murder or fraud case happening. Since the increase rate of expatriates within the nation, crime and corruption is increasing every single minute.

Especially these Bengoli people, one unique cast. You will find them throughout the country but majority of them reside in Ajman. One can find them dressed up like locals, speaking arabic and even keeping taste like locals. Doing so is no sin, nor crime, but why hide their own identity?
From their face structure one can easily say make out . But are they proving out something ? or ashamed of themselves and imitating to be someone ?

I hear ya, on the rise in crime with the rise of expats...

And I AM an expat... but one who HATES the changes that the foreign influence is now making...

I've been around long enough to know how wonderful UAE was before this influence....

If I was given the power, me would wipe out all exapts from here. Except for the Female species, they brighten the eyes of every local youth.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

I was just thinking, maybe you, Balushi & Dengrous would like me better if I got a sex-change and became a man...

But now it seems, even if I did that... I'd still be an expat...

What can I possibly do now?!

This country would be nothing if we wiped out the expats.. who would build the skyscrapers? Who would clean the streets? Who would manage the companies? We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the expats, especially those who work here as manual labourers.

I'm going to assume you're local because you said, 'we' wouldn't be here....

That being said, it also makes you Muslim, yeah?

Please remember the Prophet's (SAW) warning about signs of the end of days...

'Men in big buildings fighting over sheep.... ' At least I think that's the way it goes... My memory is really bad, and it was a translation....

Why need sky scrapers? And why is HUGE amounts of money so important that society should be corrupted for it? And my bet is, the streets wouldn't be half as dirty if 80% of the people left... Less people, means less garbage, no?!

Yes, I am both.

I'm not advocating the skyscrapers or development, etc. With every building built we are losing a little bit of our culture. But, this is what the government wants. They want the skyscrapers, they want economic growth, and so they need the labourers.

The Emirates was all beautiful some 20 years back from today. Life was so easy and peaceful. There was no discrimintaion between the locals and the expats. Today we ourselves are not aware of the culture, nor anyone following the old traditions. its all vansihed with time. Life today is no different than living in the West. Every human here has only one thing in their head. Make more and more money.

I wish I was in the 80s and I wish Baba Zayed (Allah yr7ama) was still around. Unbelievable change in such a short time. Priorities have changed, sadly.

I can't believe this happened in Nasseriyah. Was it in papers or did you know thru some Anjad guy? Every person is frustrated in their own way and they don't think twice before killing.

This thing didnt appear in the papers but heard the whole thing from an old family friend, still living back in that area and a neighbour of the victim.

Yea I remember the days when Nasyriah in Sharjah had those two twin white buildings with red borders (now opposite the new Emarat Gas pump) - the fire & power stations way back in the 70's.

Most of UAE was such an amazing place. Everyone knew everyone else, people would take lotsa food to each others homes whilst breaking fast in Ramadan. There were so few expats around and fewer nationals. I recall the days when Al Wahdha street was the "IT" place for us teenagers to hang out, if you weren't old enough to drive or didn't have a car to head to Dubai.

I wouldn't call the whole expat community to be banished from the UAE. There are those educated, wordly ones who have lived in the UAE all their lives and care for the land second to no other country and feel quite sentimental about it (me : )

I feel this way, even though I do not live in the UAE anymore - but my folks do - since 1969, ever since my dad moved from the UK to work with a firm in Sharjah.

I agree with Emaraty though, I really wish the trouble maker bengalis/baluchis/tonsa pathan bros and all those troublesome B'bay underworld rookies get rooted out of the UAE (btw I am an Indian Brit citizen, born raised in the UAE)

Do you think it'll ever go back to the way it was in the 70's and 80's? - ah the bliss, the sand, the call for prayers -miss it all.....
