Return Of Ramadan

The holy month has once again arrived. But the real question arises is, do we really know what Ramadan means ?
Is it just to starve the whole of daylight ?
Is it to keep ourselves the most in bed, to avaid feeling the hunger?
Is it to sit in front of the TV and watch all the serials broadcasted ?
Is it to just have a heavy meal of different types of dishes at iftar ?
Or is it to stay awake and enjoy the late night city life, with all the festivals going by?
???????

Ramadan being the only month in the year, I find the mosques filled with worshippers at all 5 times of prayers. But where do these worshippers disappear once Ramadan is over ? Is it said that Salah is obligatory only for Ramadan? Salah, is an everyday compulsory routine in the life of every muslim. Infact one should take full advantage of this holy month to get closer to Allah, and continue doing so throughout the remaining days of their life.

In a country like here, one can easily find a mosque within every 500 metres. Yet hardly anyone does spare a few mintues in remmberace of Allah. From sunrise till sunset we all use the words Alhumdulillah, Inshallah, Subhanallah, Istagfirullah........but do we mean what we say or is it just part of the conversation? Every muslim does know, and need not to be reminded on how we can get close to Allah. Yet we only remember Allah, when we have a problem or a situation with no solution.

Questions and questions will all keep arising from every corner of the world. But there is no question that is left unanswered in Islam. With the grace of Allah, we have been given another chance to step on the right path and should take every possible advantage from the coming 30 days, for no one has witnessed tomorrow.

Ramadan Kareem
